I agree, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I did a similar thing at my place (small house, small budget), but after living here for almost a decade. I built to avoid rain, mold, rot, etc. alls I was sayin was the framing looked a little odd, but I guess the code warriors on here know best.
