Not that hard to hook up a transfer switch. Otherwise the backfeed is OK if you're conscientious about disconnecting the main before doing so. A good idea to kill the main before hooking up the transfer switch too. I doubt you could order one and get it there in time for this storm. I'm not an electrician but I did stay at a Holiday Inn.
