I used a Unirac U-LA ground mount, but you have to build a 3" tubular steel frame in concrete to attach the ground mount rails to. A mount for the mount.

I think building it on top of a carport is a better dual-use way to go for the money, but my ground mount will withstand a hurricane much better. I built a separate, permitted 8' x 16' building (no need for permit today) to house the batteries, inverter, meter and two charge controllers which gave me extra room for storing garden tools also. That could have been just a closet at the end of a carport.

The future is integrated pv into the building materials like windows as I mentioned before so it will become much easier in the future to go off-grid.
