Will the new flow put an end to more geothermal?
#39
There is no method of generating power that will pass environmental "muster". Their real agenda is to bring people down to the same level as animals, muscle-power only. They object to "this", and force the adoption of "that". Once "that" is firmly is in place, they object to "that" and force conversion to "the next thing", and it never ends. If you found a way to generate mega-watts of power involving nothing more than a marble, a glass, and some water, they would find a way to balk at it. It is their clear and proven track record. They "approve", i.e. "accept" a technology only long enough for it to be adopted and depended-upon, at which point it suddenly becomes a pariah that needs to be squelched.

Massive amounts of land used for that method.

The trades are pretty constant but not a wind turbine in site. Doesnt make sense except that geothermal is probably cheaper.

The trades on this side aren't strong enough nor consistent enough. Companies have studied this already. That is why the wind turbines are in other areas of the island.

I don't know if wind turbines could get through an environmental assessment in Puna - too many rare birds and bats to contend with.
Plus, many people object to their noise and aesthetics.
