birchl - Well lets see, since you are new to H.A.
To sell at a Farmers Market you need to have your G.E.Tax # and all transactions recorded and taxed.
This placard should be at any ones disposal so the public knows who you are. A true farmers market , is what people grow to sell, from their farms, not LED TVs,Not Honda generators,Not misc tools.farm products grown on your farm.
The children's park is named after Danny Wolverton who was a dear friend of ours.He was also with a few others the original Community Watch.
When we take our grand children to play in the park at H.A.C.Building,it is an honor to remember those who helped our community thrive.
One of the office managers, a woman, she sits all day long smoking tobacco at the door of the community center, talking on her cell phone.
This pollution is bad for one of the grand children who has asthma .
We have tried to tell her this but she says we do not need to be there and the law states, that any one smoking cigs needs to be a minimum of 20 feet away from a buildings entrance.
The public drinking is another issue, along with the sometimes used syringes and tiny little zip loc bags with white residue on the ground in the play ground area itself.
So birchl open drug use is an ongoing issue and yes we will take photo's and call law enforcement as part of our duty as good neighbors in the effort to keep H.A. drug and crime free.
Another option for those who insist on this right to sell their farm produce,is to go Maku'u farmers market and peddle your farm grown items there.Or have the gathering on saturdays at your own homes.
