Video and recordings are excellent ways to get "uninterpreted" information that is not run through a filter of someone else's perspective. The board chose to make sure that will not be available. They have chosen to limit our ability to get credible information, after scheduling these meetings when most working people cannot possibly attend.
If they have nothing to hide the HPPOA board should post unedited video of all HPPOA meetings on the website for all HPPOA members, on or off island, to watch. Instead they banned video taping to limit access to an unedited version of their actions. The minutes are heavily edited, I compared the words ascribed to me in the minutes of one meeting to my notes and the tape made by someone else, and they were virtually unrecognizable, and left out the main point I made. If members cannot record the meetings anymore, then the only record of what is said and done will be minutes controlled by the board.

Please read the agenda on line again...it says you can record but "with prior authorization". So it's not prohibited.
The history has been with minutes of any board, even NW boards etc. that editing does occur. Not saying it's right but they all seem to do it.
Video recordings that started with the tenure of the previous board was not put on web sites or you tube. It was used for back up of information only by a lot owner after heavy editing was occurring of their minutes.
This "group" of recorders don't necessarily record for that in mind. It's also being used to harm or to possibly aid in the case against this board by someone with a personal agenda. We all saw one of the terminated employees filming and audio taping the Special General Membership Meeting. What could be their reasons for doing this?
It appears that someone is also zeroing in on a particular board member and posting it on the internet and for what other reason than to cause harm. One bad apple or more has caused this action of prohibiting others from recording unless authorized previously. You can thank them for this.
My hopes are that unruly lot owners don't show up at the board meeting to challenge this. It's clearly posted and there are reasons as stated. Who could blame this action after what's occurred by those that seek to harm? Please discourage the unruly people if so. This board has important business to take care of tonight.
