It's not and shouldn't be an Either Or proposition.
Plus the CDC and the President and health care nationwide have already decided that it is crucial to deal with Ebola, so the question of whether to give it attention is a moot debate and a deflection from the topic.
I don't downplay that measles is serious, but children die of the common cold too. Children and infants can be very fragile. Most children wait out the measles at home, and don't go to the hospital. All Ebola patients who can go to the hospital and put an immense burden on the system in terms of care and medical waste disposal. Each Ebola patient has a critical ordeal, even if surviving. The fewer the better!
If you guys want to quote statistics, fine that it works for you. I find the statistical comparison approach to be unpersuasive. Anyone can pull out stats for worse things than most risks, but that doesn't mean we should not do what we can to drive the disease back into dormancy, both here and in Africa.
