Sorry, but I'm having a hard time seeing what's wrong with Kathy's posts. Pahoa is a dump and a lousy place to visit. Hilo may have more derelicts total, but it's a much bigger town - there are places you can go that aren't ****holes. The problem with Pahoa is there's one not-very-long street, so when that's where all the derelicts and decay is, there's nothing else. You all sound like you're in denial that Pahoa is seen so low not just by people elsewhere in the state but elsewhere in Puna. Kind of like the people who run terrible hotels and try to make their guests sign agreements not to post negative reviews to TA or Yelp, and then sue them when the guests try to warn others away.
