I think the bank referred to is at Shipman's Ulapono development on the Keaau bypass.
The Puna Community Development Plan has recommended village centers in several areas: including Nanawale, Leilani, Pohoiki, Kapoho, HPP, Hawaiian Beaches, Ainaloa, etc. For the most part, these need the support of the community association, which is not always available. If it had been done, we would not be facing such a major problem with the loss of Malama Market. I'm glad that Island Naturals will still be open, as I do most of my grocery shopping there anyway.
