As an outsider to this subdivison - and only from the posts -
I would be concerned if I was the treasurer that an organization of this size was requiring me to do these things, especially when there is paid staff to do these things to keep it above board.
There should be a check and balances and the treasurer is that check. Nothing may be being done wrong, but when someone else is writingdoing the checks, it is more legitimate for the treasurer to review the process, than be the one doing the process.
As a treasurer she should be saying, NO, this is not generally accepted accounting practices. You may see it referred to as GAAP in a response from the auditor following the audit. This is the treasurer's job to run the financial side in a GAAP manner.
My 2 cents.
One other thing, addressed to Mermaid, people can want the board to operate above board, and at the same time, not automatically be supporters of the terminated employees. These two things do not go hand in hand.
