So when your power goes out, do you report it to HELCO?
I didn't used to, but finally called one time after the power had been out all day. They said the power had been restored in my area hours earlier. I convinced them otherwise, and they got it back on an hour later. If only I'd called sooner...
Since then, I've called in more promptly. Often, they haven't known my area was out--apparently, I'm the only one in the neighborhood that calls--and HELCO respond fairly quickly.
Cool thing: HELCO calls back after they restore power, just to make sure it's working at the house of the person who reported the outage. Makes me feel special!
