Mahalo rainyjim, for posting the information put forth by the UH.
Unfortunately, what is written has yet to be realized. As the State Auditor opinion provides in several audits over the years, existing contracts are not adhering to conditions set forth. The UH just continues to collect money, without addressing the breaching of contract(s). Politics at it's best, at the UH.
This link provides the State Auditor's reports with regard to Mauna Kea specifically:
http://auditor.hawaii.gov/?s=mauna+kea
Let us hope the UH begins to pay more attention to the existing leases and BLNR/DLNR begins to enforce what is required under the law. Per the State Auditor, they all have LOTS of work to do.
