Advantages and disadvantages of a restored Kingdom
#18
That's like asking, "What are the advantages and disadvantages of water?"
There are just too many variables--salt water? snow? in the desert? potable?

I think that's what makes the topic so uncomfortable; we don't know what a "restored Kingdom" would be like.
Will there be a monarchy or some other form of government?
Will native Hawaiian all be ali'i, or will some be peasants?
Will non-Hawaiians lose their property? Their rights? Will they be booted out? KILLED?!?!?!
Will everyone have to learn to speak Hawaiian?
Will Hawaii maintain good relations with the US, or will they align with some other country(s)? What will the US do about that?
Will we still have healthcare, government-maintained roadways (in some places), public libraries, police, a rail system on Oahu?
Will there be an income tax? Sales tax? Property tax?
Will we get solutions to problems like coquis and fire ants, meth? How about getting Superferry back?

Gee, I could go on asking questions all day.
