Have they provided an EIS? How is the military involved? It's the perfect location to spot aircraft landing at the airport. Spy agencies must be involved. Are the aircraft carrying secret spy satellites? Surely it'd be better to demolish the whole building and return the land to its original state. But it'll be good for some young locals to get low wages and rely on tips. Can they launch satellites from the top of the hotel? It has some satellite dishes so they must have seen planes going missing and all the Soviets out there. It might mean we can use the moon but it's beyond third quarter so who knows where the mass and light will go? Perhaps we can reflect the light of Mars instead.
