Aloha ahiahi, Pam, and mahalo for taking the time to read and understand.
The history of Keopuolani (and her father) is evidence of commitment to ohana. As wahine, you and I (among others) can hopefully appreciate the strength a woman carries in our culture. It is no wonder the King would approach her on his knees, or crawl on his belly to her, out of respect.
During the trying times we all endure, it is with great hope our basic human decency prevails. It has been a very long week, month, and/or year, for many of us.
I cannot express in English words how much I appreciate your reading about Keopuolani. During the past few days (been on Mauna Kea/a Wakea to make sure my ohana on both sides were safe and respectful), Akua, e na Aumakua, e na Kupuna were most certainly present. No question.
My continued positive thoughts and prayers always, as we look forward to your return to Hawai'i, Moku o Keawe. You are one who has the heart of a Hawaiian/kanaka maoli, perhaps more than some with the "koko" (blood) in the veins, as far as your outlook on life.
Mahalo, and may Akua protect and heal you, to ensure your journey back home. We await your return.
With heavens blessings, Pam, now and always. Mahalo ke Akua.
Fondest aloha to you.
JMO.
