Possible tropical storm development near Hawaii the next couple of weeks;

Not expecting anything major but a glancing blow from a tropical depression or storm is probably likely for the Big Island in about a week. Probably will get the remains of a tropical storm here around July 8th;

As the waters warm the Hurricane/Tropical storm season will peak here in Aug./Sept.
We do have much above normal SST especially near Hilo;
