Look at a map for the land. All the land that is being federally leased including Pearl Harbor, Schofield Barracks, Kaneohe, etc. are ceded crown lands. All the state parks are ceded crown lands. All the harbors are ceded crown property. Out of all the land that would become the property of the Hawaiian Nation, the Hawaiian Home Lands are the only areas which individual birthright Tahitian-Hawaiians own directly. If the Hawaiian Nation forms, then all the ceded crown lands would be owned and governed by whatever body of government the native Hawaiians form. It could mean all the federal lease money goes to the Hawaiian Nation or if the Hawaiian Nation even wants to lease to the federal government. All the fees and taxes for state property become will be decided by the governance and become the property of the native Hawaiians. This is why the Republicans are supporting the Hawaiian Kingdom. They know the kingdom and rightful king/queen will never be resolved, so things don't change until the native Hawaiians are one hapa-haole from becoming multi-racial with no recognition.
