Aloha ronald, I lived in Nanawale in 1989-90 was broken into twice, because of isolation, the only house on the block. But the subdivision is growing so fast now I don't think this will be such a problem in the future (saftey in numbers), and the HOA is very diligent about keeping out campers and unpermitted construction. Like John says this is going to be a very popular area in the future, so convenient to town. It's less than 5 mins. to all services in Pahoa. Definately don't buy sight unseen, some of these lots have sheer cliffs, pukas, (craters, lava tubes), or giant albizia trees that would have to be removed to make your lot liveable. there are 100's of nice high ohia treed lots there too.
