Just as I started to read this thread we had a nice, albeit short, downpour here in "the second most dangerous neighborhood" (that still just cracks me up when I consider how deafeningly quiet it is 99% of the time!)! I have caught myself doing something I can't recall do often in the years I have been here - actually thanking God for the rain. Only one time before have I needed to water anything in my yard and it was oh-so brief. I used to kind of laugh when relatives and friends on the mainland would talk about the rain they received, usually followed by comments like, "We sure needed it". Now the shoe is on the other foot (mine) and they are complaining about too much of the liquid sunshine. Like 5" the other day in Corpus Christi!
