Strongly advise against the Waikiki hostels, unless you don't plan to sleep. People come in until 3 AM and talk loudly, and then the garbage trucks come by starting at 5. There is one in Manoa that's much more pleasant, but like Waikiki it's a pretty good distance from Moanalua.
