Norm, you fell for a phishing scam. those types of fake, looks like ebay and or paypunk, and yet several others for credit cards, banks nearly anything to do with different ways to fool you to rip you off on the net, fake pages and emails have been running around since the 1990's. Change any and all passwords you have, call all of your credit sources, banks, cards anything to do with your identity etc. file report with police and the feds too.
BTW another you'll probably get is the friend or relative who's stuck somewhere got wallet or purse stolen and needs you to send money..
originating from hacked e-mail accounts plus they are also scanning obituaries then hacking the deceased email account to pull that one off. I've gotten plenty of those, including 1 when a childhood buddy who I communicated with a few times a year, died, I didn't know he had for more than a year but, the scam tried to hit me up within 1 week of his death, however, I also knew better, I knew the typicality of what the e-mail was doing .
IRS phishing scams and phone calls too.. Calls with IRS and or Washington DC caller ID, which are actually free, VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) numbers threatening people the police on the way unless they get debt card loaded with cash and give them the numbers from it NOW!!
Craig's list 1,000's and 1,000's of scam autos and personal ads which if they're not looking to get your cash, they want your identity.
You best begin getting caught up by searching sites that have lists of the common known internet and VOIP scams in play these days.
Not to leave out, malware inside of click ads, and ransom ware most damageable because, no anti virus program can detect it or stop before it's too late, that locks your computer and nobody can undo it except them after you pay the ransom.
it's a dangerous world out there and if you don't know how to completely clean out your computer or cell phone take it too a professional because the potential that they've got you pinned, something residing inside your computer is high. for the chance there is, you need to be absolutely certain it's not and or removed.
