What's the truth about digging the holes for the power pole? I know it has to go down something like eight feet and have two rods at least 12" apart that go down another couple of feet but does all this HAVE to be done by a certified electrician or on his/her command? If you have the coveted orange card and all i's dotted, t's crossed, are you at the mercy of the blood suckers to pay out the wazoo to have just the pole put in the ground? Maybe I should call Mr. Inspector man to get these answers but some of these crazy restrictions and rules are just off the charts - well- crazy!! Especially when you consider that many of our sheds on the mainland were nicer and actually more sound than some of the so-called places people call home around here. There is a guy living down the street here in HPP w/ at least 3 broken cars and tarps for a home and the other day as I walked past his property, I heard his phone ringing! What's up with that?! Have rules only just now been put on the books in time for the latest real e$tate inva$ion? Ok. Back to my real question. What's the true scoop on getting power on your land once you have cleared out a 10' area for the power line and found a spot 97' from the pole on the side of the road? Any recommendations as to who can do this at a reasonable price, I'm a Jones, not a Rockefeller! pj
