Excellent point -- the right yardstick for "mayoral effectiveness" should be something like: increase in services (that the people actually want) vs the increase in size of budget.
Do we really "need" more parks, or would some infrastructure be a better investment?
Speaking of parks: I see zero mention of the Pahoa Park, either for overtime or ribbon-cutting...
"Some infrastructure"? ....what about just plain and simple " infrastructure"; we don't have any! I effectivilly pay taxes to a County that offers 0 services, on top they fleece me with permits fees and decide what I can build or not build in my own property.
BIG 0 SERVICES, how about that? anyone noticed or it is just me? And to make it even more insulting I have to pay to build and maintain our own roads, what about that baby? I think it's time to be less chilled if you ask me!
In my personal view, why on earth do we have to support this fat cat bureaucracy? To keep the Hilo, Waimea, Kona folks nice and cozy? What about Puna? the largest growing demographics in the island; where btw our Partier in Chief came from?
Someone pointed out that the parks were Kenoi's long time solution to our homeless population, funny.... Not!
