One hot day in one single location is not the same type of measurement as what NASA is measuring when they say "hottest recorded month". I'm not clear what other type of point you're trying to make about "part of the problem" is where people live. Because it's not. The temperature data is based on surface averages around the globe. They are not single points like your 1913 example.
