there are basically 3 licensed surveyor companies for the puna area and the workers that are under them.
Please do not use anyone that is not licensed. the all too common problems of peeps building on the wrong lots in Puna, clearing the wrong lots etc...isnt worth the small upfront savings. If you dont have improvements to check you can ask for a staking (marking the 4 corners), and save some $. the most common choices for ordering online are referred to as "k1" and "K2"(reference to the purchase contract items used in real estate sales). k1 might be fine for knowing where your land starts and stops. If there's a building, (improvement) use a k2 to determine that there's no encroachments
