Yes an accident is thought of as inevitable amongst many of my fellow pilots. Heck, with the increased use and size of drones, a 777 engine may gobble one up no prob, but the older smaller RJ engines or a Turboprop? Could be a catastrophic failure on short final, turboprop could sling prop shards into the passenger cabin, no fun.
I have no problem with drones, but folks can be obnoxious with them. I was recently down in Waipio with friends. A drone was making some passes down the beach.....fine, awesome view. They flew up and down the beach for something like 45 minutes. Some local braddas were flinging sticks at it. Get your cool shots, but be considerate, right?
