Snails
#17
The best, safest, most efficient way to control slugs and snails is to broadcast an Iron Phosphate based bait in the area you want to control them in.
Iron phosphate stops them from eating almost immediately. Then, they go into hiding until they die. It does kill them slowly. It can take up to 2 weeks for them to actually die. But, They will stop feeding and you will not see them unless you turn their hiding spot over and look under it.
Broadcast it around every 2 weeks to a month. Your slugs and snails will disappear and stay gone. Keep in mind that controlling slugs, snails, and LFA's too is an ongoing thing. Your area will always be infiltrated by those from around where you're trying to control them.
Persistence pays.
I can now work in the brushy areas of our lot without a shirt on. I do not get bitten by LFAs anymore like I did when we first moved in.
I do not find much sign of the hated mollusks anymore. And, I don't treat more often than every few months for any of them now.

Iron phosphate is a fertilizer. It is pet and kid safe.
The only product name that comes to mind is Sluggo. It is now carried at HD. I used to buy it through Amazon. There are other brands with similar formulations.

Stomping on them, pouring salt on them, setting beer traps, and other such actions accomplish little other than giving you some enjoyment from physically destroying them and making you think you're actually accomplishing something. There are too many of them for those to be effective controls.
Metaldehyde bait formulas do kill them more quickly. But, they can also harm or kill pets, birds, kids, etc.

Was a Democrat until gun control became a knee jerk, then a Republican until the crazies took over, back to being a nonpartisan again.
This time, I can no longer participate in the primary.
