A much more common sense tax would be to put the same exact tax on every container of alcohol sold...

They already do this, at one of the higher rates in the country. Hawaii is ranked 10th in the nation for highest alcohol taxes.
It is currently $5.98 per gallon plus the added GET on top when it is sold retail.
