Next adventure... have been strugglig with two Sears weed whackers for almost two years now. They are in the shop more than not. Made the leap this week; invested about $500 in a commercial Shindaiwa. Hubby is in heaven. Hopefully in the next few weeks he will weed whack all the stuff I can't manage to mow with the tractor!
Gumbo goes to the vet in ther morning to get the drains out of his ear. He let me give him a bath in my leftover bubble bath! Now that we have him cut short-hair style, it is much better.
The new tenant in the cabin is a delight. Many of you met Jennifer at the Punatic Patry here. Her 12 year old daughter is staying with her and she is wonderful. Today we three pitched in together and planted almost 500 Red Ti, Green Varigated stuff I can't remember the name of and Red Torch Ginger. I have been allowing mature plants to sit out in the rain to make roots. Now we are doing the cuttings and planting stuff. I see another commercial process getting started.... Lamont Ranch and Nursery? She has also gotten so much done in the garden that we have potato's going, green beans, lettuce... woo hoooo.....
So, plants and fresh veggies... and someday fruit.... and eventually coffee.
Hubby has been working hard. The Dept of Education, which assured him he had provided everything they needed for licensing to teach is now sending him in circles getting new copies of transcripts and letters from his colleges. Apparently cetified copies of his credentials and transcripts aren't good enough; now they want the colleges to send letters telling them they granted him the right to the licenses. Sheesh! However it will all get taken care of. He is just so darned educated I don't think they believe it! He has his Masters in Education: Curriculum and Instructin plus 90 units... and California teaching credentials in Single Subject History Pre K thru 12, Multisubject K - 12, Learning Handicapped K-12, Resource Specialist Certification and all the little stuff like "no child left behind" (which we call no child allowed to excel), CLAD (Language stuff), etc...
All that education and I still make him clean out the pigpen! Hehehehe
