Feeding someone produced fresh from a garden in Puna without telling them it is fresh from a garden in Puna is a form of reckless endangerment. I now personally know two people who have contracted this. Many local restaurants brag that their produce is fresh and local. A restaurant in town thought I was daft when I asked them what precautions they took against RLD in their fresh "garden" salad. The friend I was dining with was aghast that I would ask such a question: It's a fresh garden salad! Grown right here!
