I gave up on local outdoor grown veggies as soon as the first reports of RLD started filtering in. I got tired of some hippie chick at the local farmer's market giving me a song and dance about how healthy their veggies were. I met one vendor that said the local dirt was a health benefit while suggesting I didn't even need to wash their "completely organically grown" lettuce. When I asked about RLD they told me it is a myth. Ah the joys of living in Puna.

As far as government irresponsibility.. oh my.. that's probably a topic best covered by our in-house government complainer.. kalakoa?
