Personally , I really can't believe that Lowes would anchor itself in such a small community in Ka'u. It would definately have to be a scaled down operation....which then makes me wonder why anyone from Hilo would drive an hour to Ka'u when they can drive 2 hours and have more variety in the Lowes superstore in Kona?
With regard to Costco in Hilo.... I personally feel we don't need one. We have the large Costco in Kona....which I drive to about three times a year (beautiful drive) to stock up on stuff... and we already have "Cost-U-Less" in Hilo... which isn't as large as Costco...but they have the same bulk quanity selection and price (in a scaled down version of a Costco store).
