Council to consider regulating vacation rentals

1. It's called competition. It's a good thing.

I know someone who cleans vacation rentals in East Hawaii. She gets about $18 an hour.
I seriously doubt the hotels in Kona pay much more than minimum wage, and that's in Kona, not here.

2. The success of vacation rentals could well lead to the building of more houses.
Anyway, any economic success story (e.g. a space port) could be interpreted as causing house prices to rise.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, if the economy expands then more houses are suddenly "affordable".
