Hi BJK, if you go to the Hawaiian Acres web site http://hawaiianacres.org and click on the history of The Acres, you will read of the areas' mj past. I for one believe it is like everywhere else you go, it's around and whether you choose to go looking for it or not is your bussiness. I also believe that no one is going to get shot should you stumble on to a plot, unless your caught sampling . Remember though that most of what is available for reading is near outdated as soon as it hits the shelves. I guess thats to say things are a changing, more and more newcomers arriving all the time and nobody involved with illegal goings-on like to be around too many law abiding folks, makes em nervous I should think. So as the old Knight said "choose wisely" I also think you'll find The Acres a very communal area. You can also read the 2005 newsletter that is mailed out yearly after dues have been paid. The biggest problems being faced by folks today is the indiscriminant bulldozing of old growth rainforest, potholes, barking/biting dogs, feral pigs, overnight sprouting of junks cars in the roadways and the occaisional property theft.
On the lighter side of things there is talk of a bus route through The Acres. The would be down 8 Rd to F Rd to 9 Rd and out through Ainaloa Blvd. Great for those who can't drive ( or find travel expenses overwhelming. The buses are currently being thought over, a story I will follow closely.
Aloha HADave
