Good question. My secrete contact, deeply embedded at the front-lines, says that both of the Association's nominating committee and bylaw committee are pushing for the League of Women Voters. At the board meeting Wed. night, the same person gave the report for both committees (he is on both committees), so 2 times he said "The League" and in fact he emphasized to the board that The League was voted on by the members almost unanimously.
The bad news is, the board put Patrick MurducK in charge of contacting The League. That is as bad as putting the current board Pres. Craig Crelly in charge of that. Both extreme obstructionists of the Association. Don't be surprised to learn that Murdouche wasn't able to secure The Leagues services.
Why? They are an ethical and professional organization. Those types of people don't work well with disorganized unethical people. The League already has a little history with the severely ethically and morally conflicted Craig Crelly. I heard a story about him many years ago when he ran for election in his district 6 (District 6 people need to know this). He ran against June Conant and the vote was a tie. They were both present with The League and had both decided to determine the election by drawing a straw. Guess what? Crelly lost the draw. From that point on he AND his wife, the failed wannabe politician now working as an employee for HPP, became the enemy of both The League and of June Conant, who eventually became the board Pres. until June 2103.
True story.
And in fact, at the board meeting Crelly was plainly heard telling Murduck, sitting next to him, that little story. Except it wasn't quite factually repeated.
