Should UH manage Mauna Kea's summit?

My Dad used to say "the people usually get the political system that they deserve" - which I understood to mean that, if you don't vote, or don't support candidates that are interested in maintaining the long term success of the community, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

I'd also note that, if we had a local press that was actually fulfilling their function, instead playing lapdogs of the prevailing party, then a lot of this crap wouldn't be possible.
