Thanks for the sites. Bigisland grinds was interesting. I am really looking more for a forum regarding cooking, info on locating ingredients etc. This is going to sound bad--- I am really not a huge fan of "Hawaiian" food. By that I mean plate lunch etc. I am not a huge fan of most Asian cuisine either, small doses only. I was looking for a site with a forum of hobbiest (is that a word?) that enjoy cooking. Something where we can figure out how to make local ingredients work for what we need, share ideas and shopping spots, share mail order sites that will ship to Hawaii. Like if I found a real Brie or a specialty aged cheddar in Hilo I could post it so other foodies know to grab it up. I don't mind it being Oahu based. Hmmm, if there isn't one it might be something for me to work on.
