What kind of home care services are needed in Puna? What kind of home care services are seniors, disabled youth, and other people receiving here? Who is paying for these services (eg. insurance, private pay, out of pocket). There's a group of us planning on starting a home care co-op (cooperative). Our feasibility study, not the best ever, indicated that East Hawai`i is growing, but with 2000 census data, didn't inform us very much (ok, at all) about specific communities. We're in the process of researching and writing our business plan. We'd like to hear from real people, who really live here, or have loved ones living here who may need or currently receive home care/chore worker services.
