a few years ago the county had some hove lots coming up in the tax auction, so armed with a map i went over and looked at some,it was like looking at lots on the moon, one was close to the highway and restaurant and i thought maybe that would be a good buy, when i got out of the car and took a look it had a giant hole taking up most of the lot, i mean it was like some of the craters up at volcano park, lol. locals were using it as their own landfill dump, which judging by the size of this hole would out last the hilo dump. the day of the auction the hove lots were going for about $1500 to $2000, and when the "crater" lot came up for bid 2 people started bidding on it, and as i sat there laughing my a** off the proud winner got it for $2200, i went up to him after the auction and asked him if he even went over to look at them and he said no, ol!
