100 people showed up.
One of the organizers said:
“There is absolutely no way they would approve a research project where I said, well in order for me to do my research its going to result in substantial protest among the community living where I’m doing my research and its also potentially going to result in their arrest, it may result in psychological harm, it may result in their financial lost,” says Goodyear-Ka#699;#333;pua, “There is no way that that would fly.”

The reality is it did not "result in substantial protest among the community". 100 people protesting at a university with a student population of 17,612 is not "substantial." I wish at some point the statements of the protestors would match the reality in front of their eyes.
Opponents have squeezed every last drop of legal action out of the situation. They had a fair hearing. Everyone in the state heard their concerns, which were addressed in the Supreme Court ruling. Neither side gets 100% of what they want, but everybody gets something. The glass is half full for all of us.
