Empirical evidence supports it. Professional eyewitness testimony supports it. Video and pictorial evidence going back years. Artistic rendition of these craft even further back before Sci-Fi was a genera. Mentions in cuneiform tablets of Sumeria, Mahabharata of india.
Which is why the scientific method must be applied, IE looking at evidence. Saying the world is flat is easily debunked using empirical evidence. The UFO problem not so easy if taken historical accounts into view.

Not really. There still is no grand unification between macro and quantum mathematical models. because its not fully understood anymore than dark matter and dark energy are.

Furthermore, speaking of dark matter. does that exist? Can you put some in a box so I can see it? I mean beyond the "observed" effects of it is just a super gigantic UFO flying in space.
