This thread provoked me to make a long overdue call to a favorite cousin who recently retired as a long-term civilian contractor for NORAD. He says that their interest in UFOs is almost completely geared toward the military capabilities of unfriendly earthly powers as opposed to possible alien visitors. When I asked him if they would tell the public if they did find evidence of aliens, he said, "Maybe. Maybe not. It would be hard to keep something like that quiet, though, especially given that we might not be the only ones to notice." He did say that UFOs were not his area of expertise, but "We all talked about it from time to time."
Meanwhile, I still want my passport stamped for the Planet Mongo.
