There are problems with tackling a blanket statement of water "filtration pore size".... & making any definitive statement on the "right" filtration when the data is still being done & the first papers on the research are just out...
There are block water filters that have set maximum pore (puka) sizes & there are wound filters that have "average" spaces between wound cords...
The most recent data (though not totally a definitive answer yet) has that the RLW has not been able to pass 5 micron carbon block filters, but HAS passed through 1 micron wound filters....
This is in part to the fact these are tiny mobile invertebrate animals that can transform their body shape quite a bit & can slither trough wider flat spaces that the wound filter provides...
