TMT construction begins Monday 15 July

Just got back from Kona today and went through the protest area. Cars were parked both sides of the road for at least a mile. Police were parked at various places along the road, but were mostly in their cars. I did see one cop at the intersection talking to a couple people. People were friendly, smiling and giving us shakas.
We had to slow down to around 30mph, but we didn’t mind as we were able to get a good look at the goings on.
