No I did not in fact win any bid for paving or otherwise .Yes my fiancé’s company was awarded the project of which Company is his only I am named nowhere as an owner/ investor etc. I personally work and have worked for various contractors, brokers and agents. I am self employed and an employee of Pro Service Hawai’i which allows me to be on various contractors payrolls and or any other business that would utilize this payroll company. You May now ask if I am on the said companies payroll and the answer would be yes as I am with approximately 4 other contractors companies to date. When I was a board director I followed the conflict of interest policy guidelines respecting that many would assume that I hold a financial interest in the said company. I refrained from all votes regarding the project and awarding of the project.
I can tell you the qualifications and list some of the projects his company has accomplished as I could for the other companies that do asphalt paving on the island.
The said company is licensed, bonded and insured, holds all insurance policies to cover liability. All employees are covered through workman’s comp and have and periodically have safety/osha/ various training.projects of paving have been various locations of private residential driveways, commercial paving such as Med quest building on Kilaue ave, entire Longs drugs parking lot in Waimea,Tokonaga’s fishing supply parking lot, repaving of sections of Prince Kuhio mall parking lot,Alae cemetery roadway, laupahoehoe self substainable subdivision etc. Yes the bidding process to my knowledge invited the request for a proposal at minimum 4 contractors or more. The high bid was an approximate 30k higher than the low bid. I apologize I do not feel it is good practice to share any contractors numbers it is not my place.
I appreciate your responce...
