Looking for smoke alarm..

If you don't have and use A/C regularly, buy the cheapest Kidde brand smoke detector you can find. Anything else will be set off by humidity, usually when it peaks between midnight and 3 am. And for all the forgiveness the cheapos provide, they seem to work just as well as expensive units at detecting real smoke or fires. I recently bought a 2 pack on Amazon for under $5.00 for the pair including free shipping. That's generally cheaper than what good 9v batteries cost. Not unexpectedly, batteries not included.
