Just a suggestion: table salt is bad for most plants. If you use a very soluble fertilizer such as ammonium nitrate (no, do not bomb the snails and slugs!!), sodium nitrate, urea, etc. The plants will be happier and the snails and slugs will be just as dead.
Table salt is good for people and animals, in moderation, but is no more "organic" than the above fertilizers.
We are looking forward to when we can trade frequent hurricanes for, hopefully rare, earthquakes and hurricanes.
