007 -Seems to me that the origin would make a big difference to those trying to come up with a vaccine.
Why? Virus has been sequenced, at least one vaccine candidate already announced. Whether an artisanal mix from mother nature, or a lovingly hand-crafted lab brew, the virus and its effects are what they are.

the virus does not like humidity or sunshine
While generally true for most viruses, there are still new cases emerging daily in Singapore, so the tropical weather is clearly not preventing infections.

U.S. Military already has plans for pandemic outbreaks, focused on preserving their functionality. These have been activated recently to address various contingencies.
