Cell tower Kaloli & 3rd
#10
Verizon's representative approached the association (around 2015?), prior to approaching myself, and they either weren't interested or felt the deed restrictions on the nearby 20 acre parcels didn't allow for the tower. The association was going through some difficult times then (and still may be, but that is another thread), so that might have also been a factor in what was communicated to the representative and then secondhand to me.

The decision was never about the lease revenue. It was about having Verizon pay to run fiber to the area for their tower. Multiple parties, including myself, are using the spare strands of fiber. Dozens of people, perhaps over 100, are getting their internet service from these circuits through re-sellers and likely don't even know it. Spectrum ran cable last year, but still isn't offering service in the area. Business rates for these circuits are not cheap and the circuits are not available for consumer pricing. For me, once I pay taxes, insurance, and for my circuit, it's a wash.
