An earlier news story (above) reported that some states have COVID-19 in check, states which the rest of the nation could use as a model for their own testing, quarantine procedures, and reopening timelines. The federal government however has embarked on a different approach. They’ve announced a new message to the American public:
'We need to live with it'
Governor David Ige on the other hand made this announcement to the people of Hawaii:
“With the July 4th holiday this weekend, it's more important than ever to practice safety measures like physical distancing and wearing a face mask in public or in a group setting.”
I know which recommendation I prefer, and which I’ll observe on Independence Day and beyond. No offense TomK, but what if George Washington had said “we need to live with it?”
